Some of our members have had their accounts compromised recently and I thought I'd share a few tips on how to keep your account secure.

First of all, make sure you have an up to date antivirus program and make sure to perform regular scans with a combination of several antivirus and anti-malware programs.
NO ONE SINGLE ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM OFFERS FULL PROTECTION!
What I personally use:
-Avast
-MalwareBytes (always scan with this one if you suspect you may have a keylogger)
-RogueKiller
-Ad-Aware

Second of all:
DON'T USE THE SAME PASSWORD ON EVERY SITE AS YOUR E-MAIL/RS ACCOUNT

When you sign up for a site, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES use the same password you use for your main E-mail!
If the site has a security leak, the password you use for that site will be compromised and a person with malicious intent WILL CHECK to see if you were dumb enough to use the same password for your E-mail!
Needless to say, once soemone gets on your E-mail, it's game over.
This happened to me in the past and someone managed to gain access to my PayPal account and steal a whopping 2 EUROS! (wow!)

If you want to find out if your e-mail has been compromised, I suggest you check out this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hApNlDbCISw

I can confirm that this method of checking out if you're compromised works because my old E-mail appears to have been leaked from several sites and forums I used.
On top of all that, I was dumb enough to use a simple word as my password with no numbers or variations on everything I used ...

Learn from my mistakes and stay cheeki breeki,
Alex
