Even though this week has been one of the toughest ever for everyone involved with RuneScape, it has been tough for so much longer than one week. Bots, gold sellers, scammers: these are all problems that both us and you - the players - have had to put up with together in recent months. These occurrences were becoming so frequent that they seriously threatened RuneScape. A solution was needed as soon as possible, so we had to come up with the one thing that would successfully stop real-world traders – stopping unbalanced trade. It will be tough for law-abiding players, but it will also be tough for us, as we will certainly not be gaining money or members with this update. Instead, we are doing this for the good of the game, which is as dear to our hearts as it is to you. Soon, the hard part will be over and done with. The unbalanced trade changes will be made in January and we certainly don’t plan any more hard changes in the foreseeable future. Together, we will deliver an enormous blow to real-world trading, and the game has already seen a dramatic reduction in their numbers. We have always planned to release the real-world trading updates and then improve them further by listening to your feedback. We were also aware that the updates may not have been perfect the first time around, or that they may not have functioned as an ideal replacement for what we have changed or taken away. This is not a reason to roll them back or remove them, but it IS a reason to keep improving them until they DO work as a full replacement. The hard choices we have made are the best ones for the game, and we must not do anything that allow bots, gold sellers or scammers back into the game. What we need to do is build on these first, large steps and use your feedback to make improvements, so that they better fit your needs and activities. We would really like you to make your feelings known, not in a negative manner that offers no potential solutions, but with constructive criticism and suggestions that we can draw ideas from. For example, if something is broken, don't just demand that we put it back to what it was - instead, tell us your ideas to make the new system work. In summary: we would like you to think about how we can make life in RuneScape more enjoyable for you, while ALSO keeping out real-world traders and bots. It’s going to take a lot of patience and effort from all of us. Saying that, we have not been sitting around hoping for you all to come up with ideas. We have been putting together a plan. This is a schedule of ideas for improvements that will build on a number of our changes: the Grand Exchange, new player-killing games (including other dangerous ones), LootShare, Assist System, trades and so many other things that we have introduced to combat real-world trading. We aim to have the most important improvements ready in time for the unbalanced trade removal in January, and to continue adding more throughout the start of next year. We are currently assembling the best ideas from the Forums and our own staff. We will release another newspost early next week, listing the improvements we plan to make to address your concerns. |

*puts on Mr Negative hat* Jagex don't have a ******* clue what they're doing any more, they've totally lost touch with their userbase and I have no faith in their ability to not just **** everything up more with their attempts at repairing what they've done. "Input"? Tens of thousands of PKer mains, pures and even non-pking established players flat-out disgusted with the updates cancelled their subscriptions in the last few days. Jagex knew people would be ****ed off, knew there'd be a few diehards whatever they did, but the staking thing must have made them think that the players they were ******* over were all bark and no unsubscribe. I think they just flat out didn't understand how attached people are to a proper Wilderness and their unfair trades. Jagex have been bombarded with suggestions, mostly awful, some excellent, amid the hatred and the flaming on the last few days of forums. Almost every possibility for either withdrawing or changing the updates, many of them quite anatomically unlikely, has been discussed to death on the official forums. This "we value your input" **** is just pretending to be reasonable, they already have way more feedback than they can handle. Jagex's #1 priority is to stop RWITing - that is obvious enough. Player satisfaction, keeping the last few challenging and having a genuinely multiplayer game play second fiddle. They can and have annihilated goldfarming, but I don't think they're capable of running a game I want to play at the same time. Face it: Jagex are out of touch with the people paying them. They seem to think LootShare is a substitute for selling and splitting drops. They seem to think a ****ty featureless volcano can replace the ENTIRE WILDERNESS. It does for their needs, which are stopping anyone from changing money, and maybe on paper people who just want to kill others for their items should be satisfied with Bounty Hunter, people who just want a fair share should be happy with LootShare. They missed the point completely. For anyone who ever got a DK drop with friends, for anyone who ever used the tiniest piece of terrain in the wild to their advantage, it's a really long way from a good replacement. Also - this "together, we will defeat RWITing" **** is annoying, patronising, and untrue. "Together"? Speaking to Jagex: This is your stupid-ass crusade, not mine. I laugh at the macros, I sympathise with the legit skillers who've had their markets cut out from underneath them, but it never truly affected me. They never really damaged my playing style, or my enjoyment of Runescape. This bull****? Has. You lost the right to act all matey about game content and "hard times" when you ripped out the only thing in the game I still really enjoyed. |

To sum up what they've said: "We know you're all really ****ed about the **** updates we just ruined RS with, so we thought we'd talk some **** to try and save a few members. We hope you understand that stopping RWTs, no more than 5% of the whole rs population, was more important than the other 95%. RWTs have ruined the whole game, but it was worth it, even though we've barely ever mentioned RWTs before. We just thought we'd bring in the worst update in RS history with a bit of suprise. Shut the hell up you dumbasses saying change it back, we won't, gtfo. Instead try and tell us what to do, so we can warp it even more and somehow ruin it further. Don't worry though, we have a 'master plan' that involves talking **** for ages so we get some more money from you. In conclusion, we've stopped RWTs, but it was actually because we made the game so **** that nobody actually wants to play it anymore. Didn't see that comin, did they? Anyway we're all gonna go get smashed then think of some other uber updates. Later." |

Yeah, I read that thinking the whole time "What a load of ...." That new update with the 3k thing ... Is going to hurt clans AND multi-player in general. If you go to bando's on Lootshare... *murkynight has gotten a bando's hilt! "Oh...sorry, I can't share with you guys. But I cant give you each 3k to make it better!" |

they should sell runescape to a company that actually care about the players, not their own dumb morals
cause that update showed they really dont care bout the majority, and when they tried to justify the updates, that... really didnt work.. at all |
