Hello.

As some of you may know we held a lengthy council meeting about events, now everything about events was discussed from mass times, how to improve attendances. Anyway there is quite a lot of behind the scenes things that will make events easier to run and decide.

Management Ideas

  • Creation of online database of event information.
  • Drop down menu's created that will link members to a guide on the event, what's needed invent etc.
  • Event mass to be moved from 7:30 to 7:45 as most members don't attend until nearer event time

    Event's

  • New mini games incorporated, Duel Competitions, Sorceress Garden, Great Orb Project, Penguin Hunting Teams, House Parties
  • 1 on 1 training, this will be anything from Bounty Hunter to slayer, anything you aren't sure about members can help each other. Hopefully this will bring Members closer together.

    Encouragement

  • Regular use of e-mail updating people on there activity points, also to ask if there is any problems why they aren't as active

    Feedback

  • Review of each event held, Member's will be asked to provide feedback on each event, write us reviews as what to improve, what was done well etc.
  • Polls on events, Best days to hold events, favourite events, also more polls on events which people would want to try.
  • Feedback on skills people are training so that we can arrange skill events that people will compete in.

    Hopefully these changes will improve our events all round, from attendance to organisation, we all need to try and attend every event possible to make sure that the future for TBE is a successfully one. Thanks for reading.

Aye they sound like pretty good ideas, the only thing i reckon might be unecessary is moving the event mass times from 7:30 to 7:45, it could be good but the thing is that extra half hour gives people a heads up, thats when the spam starts and people are encouraged to think about attending, they dont have to attend at 7:30, they can mass any time up until the event starts, however, depending on the event that extra 15 minutes (from 7:30) could help some more, could give people more time to prepare, get killcount, read up or learn how to actually do the event if they've not done it before

I do realise that you have the guides part written up there already which is great, its just that 7:30 has worked well for a long time now, not sure if reducing that time would be a good choice

Just something to think about is all, im also not sure how you would do the e-mail thingy, would you have enough time to send (actually that could be easy, mass announcement like Jungles done before) and reply personally to each one?

Feedback - You could get swamped by this but feedback is always great and i think its a good way of getting members views without the single 'suggest an event' thread

Thanks UL, good points.

As you mentioned I agree it's appropriate for god wars to spam from 7.30 or earlier and we should probably keep this spamming for all events as a reminder just not as an actual "gathering time" for most events. I think it's helpful for new people to be clear that they don't have to actually be there until 7:45. When I was new I was the only one there at 7.30 :-)

A lot of the other points have a prequisite of a database otherwise it's a full-time job. I noticed you picked up on this :-) This means the changes won't be instant but what we'll be working on them.

Not sure if the council still remember but the 'introduction meeting' (a small one-to-one sort of mentor session that introduces members with all the basics that they need to know) which we discussed a while ago could be pretty useful when taking into account what you said, letting members know that the actual event starts at 8 (usually) and that whatever time it says on the calendar or !event is the time the mass will begin and they are more than welcome to attend half an hour later when it actually starts

Just a reminder, could be already discussing it or could have forgotten just thought id refresh their memory :p

We do need the introductory period still, it was a fantastic suggestion and is still a great idea and needs to come into action as soon as pos

Sounds like good idea's and changes to be made. It would be ideal to have GOOD guides written, as there very out dated. I think this would save leaders ALOT of time explaining to people what to do, if its a well written guide, thats better than any explanation anyone can give over IRC.
I think the idea of feed back will be a good one also. I have a suggestion I'd like to make which may be a good idea, In the calendar sub forum, rather than a calendar.... Have individual posts for each event in the week. That way people can comment on them say 'Yea I'll be there, awesome event ect.' and after people can post feedback on the same topic.
Looks like some good changes to be made though :) gj council.
